This page is given to demonstrate how my latest sculpture is developing

Hi - This latest hair adorned sculpture project is aimed to be the centerpiece sculpture for my next exhibition at Sandown Racecourse contemporary art fair  in March. My aim is to portray a dancer 'reaching for the sky', her head thrown back with hair flowing down to create a strong sense of movement.

The figure will be carved from a block of North American poplar wood which is light in colour and nicely grained. The hair pieces will all be created from 'up-cycled', beautiful old oak. I intend to elongate the feet to increase the sense of stretching to reach her goal.
