One of my favourite projects is to create sculptures from rejected offcuts, reclamation timber or stone, and sometimes even redundant old furniture. To take what can be beautiful, but unwanted materials and give them a fresh start as a 'New beginning' sculpture, is a really fulfilling passion.

'Eternal embrace

This design has been in the back of my mind for a while and when I saw an offcut of Poplar wood in a local timber yard it was time to try it. The Bath stone base is also from the scrap bin. Together they made a new sculpture which someone will hopefully cherish for years to come.

This concept of two vague entities in a twisted ribbon of wood that creates moebius ring effect of a surface going on for eternity is a design I intend to return to.
